The Samsung Galaxy S8 has implemented a feature called "edge lighting". This feature allows you to flash the page screen instead of pop-ups on notifications.
This feature had so far only a few settings. This has now been changed by a recent update for the Edge Screen. The "edge light" menu now has "advanced functions". You can find more information here:
Updating the side light or the edge screen
To do so, open the following submenu from the start screen:
- App menu --> Settings --> Display --> Page screen
You will now see the following screen:
Tap on "Update" and it will open the Galaxy App Store. Touch again on "Update". The download and the installation start. Then open again:
App Menu --> Settings --> Display --> Page Screen
Now tap on "Advanced Settings". Here you can now adjust your edge light as you like it. From "app color" to "custom color" to width and transparency, you can set everything. Use the individual submenus or the controllers for this. Afterwards, the edge light function on the Samsung Galaxy S8 is hopefully a little more attractive and visible than it was before.
