Even today's smartphones can still have the following error when installing a new app or a larger firmware update: "Insufficient storage available". If you see such a message, you must try to free up memory on the internal device memory.
To do this, you have the following options:
- Uninstalling apps
The first and easiest way to quickly free internal storage is to uninstall unnecessary apps. This works on most Android smartphones as follows:
Open the Google Play Store and then tap the menu by tapping the Hamburger icon in the upper left corner. Select "My Apps and Games". Now look for apps you no longer need with the "Installed Apps". Tap it, and then select the Uninstall button.
- Using Smart Cleaner
If your smartphone has a Smart Cleaner, such as Samsung Galaxy or Sony Smartphones, use this option. Otherwise, you can also delete the cached data in Android as follows:
- WhatsApp Deleting Pictures
Often, you have several hundred to one thousand WhatsApp pictures saved, which have been sent by your friends over time. Go through these WhatsApp images and delete unnecessary WhatsApp photos. To do this, open the Gallery app on your Android smartphone and then use the "WhatsApp" folder.
- Use memory card
If your Android smartphone offers the possibility to use a memory card as external memory, use it.
- Move photos and videos to PC or memory card
If you have saved many pictures and videos on your Android smartphone internal storage, move them to the memory card or transfer them to a PC or laptop. Here you can very quickly free up large amounts of space on the smartphone.
The above measures should help you to clean up the internal memory of the Android smartphone. After this, the "Insufficient memory available" error should no longer appear.
