The Samsung Galaxy S5 has integrated an app called "Smart Manager" within the Android Marshmallow firmware, which allows you to perform various optimizations on your smartphone. One of these optimizations is deleting unnecessary files.
Why is it important to delete unnecessary files?
These files accumulate within a very short time on your Samsung Galaxy S5 and usually block up to several gigabytes on the internal memory. Since this, as the name implies, are unnecessary files, you can also delete them. The Smart Manager does this well. In the following guide, we explain how to do this:
- Open the app menu on the Samsung Galaxy S5 and then the "Smart Manager" application
- Tap "Memory" in the upper right corner of the screen and you will get the following view:
- Now select the button "Delete unnecessary data" and the Smart Manager will start the cleanup action.
Of course personal files are not deleted. After the process has been finished you should have more memory available on the internal memory of the Samsung Galaxy S5.
