If you receive a WhatsApp voice message on your smartphone, it will automatically play over the speaker when you tap the Play button.
However, sound output via the loudspeaker is not always an advantage, especially if you don't want everyone in the vicinity to hear the content of the voice message.
That's why WhatsApp has a simple feature that fixes this situation. This function is not known by many WhatsApp users and therefore we have briefly described this function here:
To change the sound output from the speaker to the earpiece of the smartphone, you have to hold the smartphone to your ear immediately after tapping the Play button of the WhatsApp voice message.
The proximity sensor detects that the smartphone is on the ear and then switches the voice message directly from the speaker to the earpiece.
This gives you privacy again when listening to a voice message, similar to a telephone call.
This WhatsApp feature is not known to many WhatsApp users when they listen to a voice message. So you don't have to lower the volume of the loudspeaker anymore.
