Under Windows, problems may occur with the automatic update of the file explorer. For example, newly created folders are not visible or files that have been renamed are displayed with the old name.
Only by manually updating the data image becomes current, but the automatic update does not work. If you have this problem, please try the following tip:
Force automatic update via registry
Press Windows key + R to open the command prompt.
2. type regedit.
3. search for "DontRefresh" in the registry editor
4. change the entry from 1 to 0
The path looks like this:
- Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\WOW6432Node\CLSID\{BDEADE7F-C265-11D0-BCED-00A0C90AB50F}\Instance
Here you can find the entry:
- DontRefresh REG_DWORD 0
This should now cause the automatic update of the file explorer to be fast and show you changes immediately.
