Sometimes it is necessary to copy the exact path of a file including the file extension into Windows. However, this is often not so easy, because there are several procedures.

Easiest method to copy the path of a file in Windows
1. First display the file on your screen
2. Hold down the Shift key and then right-click on the file
3. In the context menu you will now find "Copy as path" - select the entry
The file path is now copied to the clipboard and can then be pasted elsewhere.
The option "Copy as path" is only displayed in the context menu if you press the above mentioned Shift key simultaneously with the mouse click. If you don't do this, you don't see the option either.
