If you use Windows 7 as your operating system and use a specific wallpaper as your desktop background, you may want to know where it is stored on your computer.
This is always important to know when you switch to a new image, but perhaps want to use the old one again later.
Often the image was also set directly over the browser as an active background image. How to find the location of the current wallpaper in Windows 7 is described here:
- Right-click on a free area on the desktop
- Select "Customize" from the context menu and then "Desktop Background" from
- Here you will now find the image path of the currently used background image such as:
file:///C:/Users/USERNAME/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/Windows%20Photo%20Viewer/
You now know how to find the location of the current background image under Windows 7 and thus find an image easily.
