USB debugging actually belongs to the app development area. However, by activating this option, a USB connection between the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the PC is simplified. In the following instructions you will find everything about USB Debugging and where you can activate this in Android.

Tip 2: Activate MTP + ADP in USB Settings

On the Samsung Galaxy S7, you can view and change USB settings. To improve the connection between your smartphone and the computer, it is recommended to set the USB settings to the status "MTP + ADP". Tip 3: Using another USB cable

Who has updated the Samsung Galaxy S6 to the new Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 and is a user of the fingerprint sensor for unlocking the lock screen, will now have the following peculiarity:

Then the Samsung Galaxy S6 restarts, the following message appears on the display:

Samsung Galaxy S6

"Enter PIN instead of using fingerprint recognition after restarting device to protect fingerprints"

This means that you cannot unlock the Samsung Galaxy S6 with the fingerprint. But you must enter the previously set pin. This phenomenon appears with Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 after each reboot of the device.

After the pin input the smartphone can be unlocked as usual by fingerprint. Now you may wonder whether you can disable this feature on the Samsung Galaxy S6?

The answer is "No".

Since it is a security feature, it is not possible to unlock the Samsung Galaxy S6 after a restart without the input of the pin or only by fingerprint. Perhaps this will be reversed in one of the next firmware updates, for the time being, however, it remains with this setting.

You know now why after a restart of the Samsung Galaxy S6 this cannot be unlocked by fingerprint, but only with a pin.

On the Samsung Galaxy S7 you currently cannot see at a glance, in which mobile network / provider the device is currently logged in. It would be useful if the network operator is displayed directly in the status bar of the Samsung Galaxy S7.

Exactly for this, there is a third-party app called "Phono" on the Google Play Store. With this app it is possible to display the network operator with which you are currently connected in the status bar as a symbol.

Samsung Galaxy S7

Especially when you change often between different network operators, because you live on a land border, this information is very useful. The "Phono" app can be downloaded free of charge on the Google Play Store:

  • Link App Phono

If you do not want to install a new app, you can also view the information about the network operator in Android when you pull down the status bar once. The network operator is then displayed in a very small font on the lower edge of the display.

You now know how to easily view the currently connected network operator on the Samsung Galaxy S7.

After the firmware update to the new Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 you can notice, for example, on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, the Samsung Galaxy S5 etc. that the following message appears in the status bar:

"SD card for transferring photos and videos"

This message appears after each reboot, even if you registered the message and then wiped it from the status bar. Surely you ask yourself whether you can permanently disable this message.

Unfortunately, the answer is "No". In the latest Android firmware from Marshmallow, it is not possible to permanently disable the SD memory card notification. This means that this message always appears on your Android smartphone every time you restart.
