You may have saved videos or movies on your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge that you do not want to appear in the Gallery or any other app, such as the video player. So if you want to hide several videos on the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, you can do this very easily:
Move the videos you want to hide into a folder by using the file explorer "My files". A .nomedia file must then be created in this folder. To do this, you need an additional app, the ES File Explorer.
For example, you can download it within the Google Play Store. After you have downloaded and installed the file explorer on the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, you can start it: If you save a "nomedia" file to the video folder of your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, this folder will not be visible in the gallery App or any other app.
To create a .nomedia file, you must open the previously downloaded "ES file explorer". Then navigate to the path where your hidden images are stored in a folder. In this folder, you must now create a file with the following name:
- .nomedia
To do this, type "New" at the bottom left, then select File. Now enter ".nomedia" and then tap "OK" to create the file. Do not forget the point before the "nomedia"!
Now restart your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. If you now open the gallery, the contents of this folder including pictures will no longer appear in the Gallery app, etc., because the media scanner from Android to this folder has no longer access. You now know how to hide videos on the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.
