If you have updated your Samsung Galaxy S5 on the new Android Lollipop, it can happen that you receive from this moment on on no notifications of new SMS messages. Neither by tone nor by vibration a new SMS message is reported. Usually the reason is a faulty setting within the Android messages settings.

Open from the home screen of the Samsung Galaxy S5 the following submenu:
Home Screen --> Menu --> Settings --> Section Applications --> News --> Notifications
In this submenu, you now need to ensure that the control bar on the top right is set to "On". If this is not the case, push it from "Off" to "On". This enables Lollipop notifications for incoming SMS messages on Android at your Samsung Galaxy S5.
You should now again be notified by sound and vibration on new text messages on the Samsung Galaxy S5 with Android lollipop.
