Samsung Galaxy S4 receives Android Lollipop firmware update

From now on many users of a Samsung Galaxy S4 can install the new Android Lollipop update. The update is available to either via OTA or via Samsung Kies.

With Android Lollipop you have lots of new features on your Samsung Galaxy S4 available, but compromises have to be made in some places. However, it is recommended to install the Android Lollipop firmware update on the Samsung Galaxy S4.

Should you not see the download information for Android Lollipop on your Samsung Galaxy S4, then you can manually search for it. This works as follows:

Open on your smartphone from the Home screen: Apps --> Settings --> Options --> Device Information --> Software Updates --> Update Now

After you've tapped on the entry your Samsung Galaxy S4 checks, if a new firmware is available for download. This is now for the most devices the case. The firmware can now be downloaded via OTA, On the Air (wireless connection) to your smartphone.

The update process takes about half an hour and it is recommended that the battery is fully charged before the update process is started.
