If you were impressed by the idea and the price of the OnePlus 5, you should check whether your currently used SIM card fits into the new device after ordering the smartphone. For older smartphones, a standard or micro sim card was often used.
However, the OnePlus 5 requires a smaller format, which means that your current Sim card will no longer fit into your smartphone and you will not be able to use the phone function anymore. The OnePlus 5 needs a:
- Nano Sim card
This is currently the smallest Sim card format on the market and currently belongs to almost every new smartphone.
So if you have a larger format, you have the following options:
- Sim card punch
By using a Sim card punch it is easy to punch out the Nano Sim card from an existing standard or Micro Sim card. You can get such a punch on Amazon, for example.
- Perforation
Another method is to press the Nano card out by using a perforation. Most modern Sim cards have such a perforation already.
- Request online
For an amount of approx. 10 - 25 $, you can also request a new NanoSim card online from your mobile service provider, usually via the Online Service Center.
