Nexus 5 How to Wipe cache partition - Instructions

If you have the new Android Lollipop 5.0 installed on your Nexus 5 , then it is advisable to perform a so-called Wipe cache partition. This clears background data and app cache, but personal data is not deleted. In most cases, the Wipe cache partition on the Nexus 5 is needed, after the new Android Lollipop 5.0 has  been installed.

We tell you now, how to perform a Wipe cache partition on the Nexus 5.

Switch off the Nexus 5 smartphone completely. Turn it on again and if you can see the Google logo press and hold the volume Volume Down button until the phone vibrates. A small menu will appear. Navigate with the volume buttons on the Nexus 5 at "Recovery Menu" and then press once the power button to confirm.

A Android man lying on the the back appears at the screen. Keep the volume up button pressed for about 6 seconds until a new menu appears. Select within this menu now "Wipe Cache Partition". Confirm it with the power button, so that the wipe is performed. After clearing the cache the Nexus 5 can be restarted. Done!

You have now successfully performed a wipe cache partition after updating to Android Lollipop 5.0 on the Nexus 5.
