If you receive images via the app WhatsApp on your Android smartphome, then they are displayed not only in WhatsApp, but also automatically in the gallery.
If you do not want to see the folder of WhatsApp images in the gallery of Android then we'll show you a trick how to hide.
There is the possibility in Android to hide folders with WhatsApp pictures using a .nomedia file". The following steps have to be made:
You need the file explorer "ES File Explorer" which can be downloaded free of charge from the Google Play Store. If the Explorer has been installed from the Google Play Store, open it on your Android smartphone
You now see an overview of your storage where you have to tap "0" for the internal memory or "extSdCard" to access the memory card.
The WhatsApp images folder can be found here:
Device memory (0) --> WhatsApp --> Media --> WhatsApp Images
This folder needs to be hidden by the Nomedia file in the Android gallery. If you open the folder, tap in the bottom left at "New" and then click on "File". You will now create a new file whose name you can now set. Select here: .nomedia as the file name. With a tip on "Ok" you create the new file.
From now WhatsApp images that you have received from your contacts will no longer appear in the Android gallery app.
