Anyone purchasing their apps via the Google Play Store can now access the new security feature "Google Play Protect". This is a search routine that regularly scans apps on your smartphone for harmful behavior. If security risks are detected, you will be notified by Google Play Protect.
The software runs in the background and only needs to be activated.
How to check or activate Google Play Protect on an Android smartphone:
- Open the Google Play Store on your Android smartphone
- At the top left, tap on the symbol with the three dashes to open the menu
- Continue to "Play Protect" - you will now see the following submenu:
