If you have an Amazfit Smartwatch with an integrated compass function, it will sometimes need to be recalibrated.
This is because the magnetic sensor, which can detect the earth's magnetic field, is disturbed by external influences. This could be a magnetic closure on a purse or handbag, for example.
If you now discover that the compass of the Amazfit Smartwatch is not functioning properly, you will have to calibrate the compass. This works as follows:
Performing Amazfit compass calibration
The prerequisite is that you are in the open air and not in the vicinity of sources of magnetic interference.
1.Open the compass application on the Smartwatch or Fitness Wristband
2. With the watch in your hand, move your arm to the left in the pattern of a transverse 8
3. After you perform this movement for about 10 seconds, the Amazfit will vibrate, indicating that calibration has been performed.
The compass function of your Amazfit should then show you the correct compass direction again. If the compass is not yet fully accurate, then repeat the above steps again for an even better result.
How can I calibrate the compass on my Amazfit fitness watch or Smartwatch so that it shows the correct cardinal point again? The recalibration is carried out as follows:
Amazfit does not display weather - Solution
If you want to display the current weather or weather forecast at your location on your Amazfit, it is possible that the weather is no longer displayed or updated.
If the automatic updating of the weather data does not work anymore, then as a user you will have to check the following settings.
Solutions if Amazfit no longer displays weather
Below we have three different ways to display the current weather and the forecast.
Solution 1. The MiFit app must run constantly in the background
To do this, you have to check on your smartphone whether a battery optimization for using the MiFit app in the background is activated. This function may cause the weather not to be updated any more because the MiFit app cannot use background data.
Even an aggressive energy-saving mode on the connected smartphone can be responsible for your Amazfit no longer displaying current weather. In this case you should deactivate the energy saving mode as a test.
Solution 2. Release MiFit authorization for the location
This solution does not work for iPhones, only for Android devices.
On the connected smartphone with Android system you can set individual permissions for each app. Here you have to give the permission for the MiFit app to get access to the location.
Solution 3. GPS must be permanently activated
If the first two solutions did not help yet, please check on your smartphone if the location detection is activated. To do so, pull the status bar with two fingers down into the display and check if the button "active" is activated.
If not, then activate the option.
These three options will cause your Amazfit Fitness Wristband or Smartwatch to synchronize with the current weather again.
