It is the function "NFC". NFC stands for Near Field Communication and is a wireless connection on a very short distance. That's why NFC is used, for example the mobile payment with the Samsung Galaxy S6.
So to remove now the N icon from the status bar of the Samsung Galaxy S6, you must disable NFC. To do this, drag the status bar down with two fingers. Then tap on the Quick Launch icon of NFC. This will now hide the NFC icon in the notification bar on the Samsung Galaxy S6. Finished!
