1. open Telegram.
2. select a chat whose history you want to delete

4. go to the option "Empty history".

Check the option "Empty history also for XYZ" to delete the history for the other chat partner as well. The process will be performed as soon as the server has been synchronized and the chat partner's smartphone is connected to the Internet.
Finally tap on "Clear History" to completely clear the chat history in Telegram.
