Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Display and sort contacts by last name, first name

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra is ideally suited to be used as a business phone in everyday life. The Contacts app is essential for this purpose, as all telephone numbers, e-mail addresses and so on are organized via it.

The Contacts app of the phablet shows you the names in the following format by default:

  • First name, last name

Especially if you use the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 as a business phone, it is usually more useful if the contact is specified in this format.

  • Last name, first name

Fortunately, this setting can be set very quickly within the Android settings on the Samsung Galaxy Note 20. And it works like this:

Show last name first within the contacts app

1. open the Contacts app on your smartphone

2. select the three-bar icon in the upper left corner

3. the sidebar with various functions is displayed. At the top of the sidebar you will see a gear symbol. Select it.

You are now in the Contacts app settings. Here you can now see "Name format". Select this and then make your selection:

  • Last name, first name

Now the contacts with the last name will be displayed first in the list.

To display contacts alphabetically sorted by last name, select "Sort by" in the same menu. Then select "Last name".

With these two settings, a contact on the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 will now be displayed in "Last Name, First Name" format and sorted alphabetically by last name. This makes it very easy for you to use the smartphone as a business phone in everyday life.
