Samsung Galaxy S7 WiFi Hot Spot No connection with PC – Solved

The Samsung Galaxy S7 has the great function to work as a mobile Wi-Fi Hot Spot to if you have the option activated in the settings. So you can use the data connection of your mobile phone with your PC or laptop on your Samsung Galaxy S7.

In general, the following error message appears when you want to access the Wi-Fi hotspot on the PC, for example, with Windows 10.

In order to connect to the Wi-Fi Hot Spot, you need to reconfigure the following settings:

Open on the Samsung Galaxy S7 the menu and then the Settings. Navigate to "Mobile Hotspot" and then tap the next menu in the upper right on "More". Now select „Configure Mobile Hotspot".

Change the network name of "Android AP" in for example "test". Security should be based on "WPA2 PSK". Select here a new password. Tap "Save". Now look on your laptop for the renamed Android Access Point.

Tap on this and then enter the previously selected password. Your PC or laptop should now be able to connect to the Wi-Fi Hot Spot of your Samsung Galaxy S7 within seconds.
